Record group 78-47 consists of administrative subject files of the Water Management Division of the Michigan Department of Conservation (and its successor, the Department of Natural Resources) for the years 1959-1975. Contains memoranda, correspondence, reports, studies, statements, news releases, exhibits, analyses, and proposed legislation relating to matters of water quality and control. Most voluminous collections of records concern the Attorney General, Governor's Office, Director's Office in the Dept. of Natural Resources, the Natural Resource Council, and the Water Resources Commission.
